Basic Japanese Lesson #6  



Hello everyone!
In the last lesson, already learned basic asking and telling time.
Today, I will give more simple sentence about it and as usual,
there will be few practice for you to do, to test your self.

So, let's get started!
Soredewa, hajimemashou! | それでは、始めましょう!

れいぶん [例文]| Example of Sentences


S1 - Japanese | Furigana
いま なんじですか。
3じ7ふんです。

Romaji
Ima nanji desuka?
3-ji 7-fun [San-ji nana-fun] desu.

English
What time is it now?
It's 3:07 minutes.

*Ima: Now | Nanji: What time | Ji: Hour | Fun: Minutes


S2 -
あさ なんじに おきますか。
6じはんに おきます。

Asa nanjini okimasuka?
6-ji han [roku-ji han] okimasu.

What time you wake up in the morning?
Wake up at 6:30.

*Asa: Morning| Okimasu: Wake up | Han: Half [Half-the time/ 30 minutes]


S3 -
まいにち なんじから なんじまで はたらきますか。
8じはんから 5じはんまで はたらきます。

Mainichi nanjikara nanjimade hatarakimasuka?
8-ji han [hachi-ji han] kara 5-ji han [go-ji han] made hatarakimasu.

From what time to what time do you work every day?
Work is from 8:30 to 5:30.

*Mainichi: Every day | Hatarakimasu: Work


S4 -
こうぎわ なんじからですか。
2じからです。

Kougi wa nanjikara desuka?
2-ji [ni-ji] kara desu.

From what time is the lecture?
From 2:00.

*Kougi: Lecture


S5 -
あした なんじから なんじまで べんきょうしますか。
9じから 12じまで べんきょうします。

Ashita nanjikara nanjimade benkyoushimasuka?
9-ji [ku-ji] kara 12-ji [juni-ji made benkyoushimasu.

Tomorrow, from what time to what time study?
From 9:00 to 12:00.

*Ashita: Tomorrow | Benkyou: study [noun] - Benkyoushimasu: To study [verb]


S6 -
きょうわ なんようびですか。
すいようびです。

Kyou wa nanyoubi desuka?
Suiyoubi desu.

What day is today?
Is Wednesday.

*Kyou: Today | Nanyoubi: What day| Suiyoubi: Wednesday

*You have to guess which picture for which question.

Hiru [Noon] nanjikara nanjimade yasumimasuka? __________________
Ashita nanjikara nanjimade benkyoushimasu? __________________
Mainichi nanjikara nanjimade hatarakimasu? __________________

3. Please do complete answer.
*Write the time in romaji, example [7] nana/ sichi, [3] san, ...
**Try to pronounce the time in Japanese while practicing.

Maiban [Every night] nanjini nemasu [go to bed/sleep] ka? [11] __________________
Maiasa [Every morning] nanjini okimasu [wake up] ka? [7:15] __________________
Maiban nanjini nemasuka? [12:20] __________________
