Writing - Reading - Speaking - Listening

Writing

In order to write in Japanese,
3 things you need to learn are:

Hiragana [ひらがな]
Katakana [カタカナ]
Kanji [漢字]

You can learn through online, there are many websites out there to learn Japanese characters and writing, or you can learn by books.

To start of

Reading

Once you have learned to write in Japanese, you can start to read in Japanese. You can develop your reading skills by reading Japanese newspaper, magazine or manga.

Speaking

Surely this is the goal of everyone who wants to learn Japanese. To improve your Japanese speaking skill, try to speak Japanese with your friends/ Japanese friends. There is also a site where you can Skype with a Japanese tutors to learn Japanese.

Listening

You can leveling up your listening skills by watching Japanese dramas, movies, and anime or listening to Japanese music.
