Basic Japanese Lesson #3  



Hello everyone!
Today's lesson is about "Basic" asking direction and
buying thing at the department store.
If you simply want to learn basic Japanese,
then here is the perfect place for you.

So, let's get started!
Soredewa, hajimemashou! | それでは、始めましょう!

デパートで | At Department Store


Japanese | Furigana
ケン:ちょっと すみません。
ナナ:はい。
ケン:かばんうりばは どこですか。
ナナ:かばんうりばですか。 5かいです。
ケン:どうも。

てんいん:いらっしゃいませ。
ケン:この かばんは いくらですか。
てんいん:2800えんです。
ケン:じや、 これを ください。


Romaji
Ken: Chotto sumimasen.
Nana: Hai.
Ken:Kaban uriba wa doko desu ka.
Nana:5[go] Kai desu.
Ken: Domo.

Ten'in:Irasshaimase.
Ken: Kono kaban wa ikura desu ka.
Ten'in:2800en [ni-sen hap-pyaku en] desu.
Ken:Jya, kore o kudasai.

English
Ken: Excuse me.
Nana: Yes.
Ken:Where is the bag department store?
Nana:Bag department store. Is 5th floor.
Ken: Thank you.

Sales Clerk:Welcome.
Ken: How much is this bag?
Sales Clerk:Is 2800en.
Ken:Ok, please give me this.


Meaning:
Kono - This [here]
Kore - This [thing here]
Doko - Where
kai - Building floor
5[go]kai - 5th floor

Kaban - Bag
Uriba - Department, counter [in a department store]
Chotto sumimasen - Excuse me.
Irasshaimase - Welcome
Ikura - How much
Jya - Well, Okay
[Kore] o kudasai - Please give me [this]


*For particles - you can always go back to lesson #1.

**You can practice and change the words such as bag shop to shoes store - bookstore - or cafe, and many words more. It would be helpful if you have a Jap - Eng dictionary.
